Precedure followed in decision making process;
The procedure followed in the decision making process, including channels of supervision and accountability :-Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM) being one of the constituent units of National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), follows the procedures enumerated in NCSM Manual of Office Procedure (MOP) for decision-making. In case of administrative matters the Section Officer proposes action with the help of staff (Assistant, UDC and LDC) posted in the section in accordance with the instructions that prescribed the level of final disposal and channel of submission for each category of cases. The Section Officer normally submits the file to Administrative Officer who with his comments in turn submits the file to Director for his decision. In case of other matters the proposal routed through the sectional head to the appropriate authority for decision. In case of financial involvements the file mostly moves through Finance & Accounts Officer. In accordance with the delegation of power as per the NCSM Bye-Laws file may be required to send to Director General, NCSM. Level of submission depends on the delegation of power as per the NCSM Bye-Laws. Each officer in the channel is accountable with respect to submission of true facts, but the ultimate accountability lies with the highest level authority that approves a proposal or takes decision.

The norms set by it for the discharge of its functions :-BITM follows the norms set out for all Government of India offices by the Department of Personnel & Training/Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.

The rules, regulations, instructions, manuals and records held by it or under its control or used by its employees for discharging its functions :-The rules and regulations, instructions manuals etc. are as prescribed and published by the Ministry of Personnel, Pension and Public Grievances including AR Wing like FR/SR and other service/establishment manuals and instructions and financial rules like GFR and Delegation of Financial Power Rules issued by the Department of Expenditure from time to time. They can get books for reading in the library itself. The library remains open for outside members from 10-00 am to 05-30 pm.
