The Biotechnology Laboratory at BITM offers state-of-the-art facilities for inquiry-based laboratory investigations and hands-on activities to help students better appreciate the promise of biotechnology and understand its tools and techniques. The laboratory has latest equipment to conduct various biotechnological experiments starting with basic cell biology to modern DNA analysis.
The laboratory is equipped with Laminar Air Flow Unit, PCR Machine, Gel Electrophoresis Systems, Micropipettes, UV Trans-Illuminator, Orbital Shaker, Autoclave, Centrifuges, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Water bath, Freezer, Incubators, Magnetic stirrer, pH meter, Desiccators and other biotechnology equipment required for conducting meaningful experiments. The lab can accommodate up to 30 students simultaneously for performing hands-on activities and lab experiments.

Biotechnology Laboratory of BITM organizes a Two-day Hands-on Workshop on ‘Microbiology & Molecular Biology Techniques: Petri Dishes to PCR’ , on December 23 & 24, 2024, from 10 am to 5 pm at Biotechnology Laboratory, BITM.
Morning Batch: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
Afternoon Batch: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Fee – ₹1500 per student (Non-refundable)
Eligibility – UG/PG Students (Any Branch of Biological Sciences)
This short term hands-on workshop comprises practical demonstration and hands-on training designed to introduce biotechnology lab equipment as well as basic techniques in microbiology and molecular biology.
